This blog is a satire of the now-defunct ICQ chat service, which is thankfully dead because I destroyed it.

Recommendations For ICQ Chat Closing, General PSA

I, JohnLennon himself, lord of all ICQ, recommend that you check this blog on the second of December and attempt to enter chat through any of the embedded links here. If they do not work, ICQ chat is completely dead. If they are still working, the service has merely disabled the web page of ICQ chat itself, probably because nobody uses it, and has left the service essentially the same.

There is no definitive way to tell, at the moment, which will be the case.

Don't mind my disheveled appearance; not long ago I got done with some "up before 6AM" work. At least I don't look like Baaaz.

  1. That's quite sad.

  2. Is it possible that it's a troll thing Johnlennon? I can't believe that the site is in fact shutting down.

  3. Sadly it's just too plausible. For a long time no moderators at all, a huge problem with spammers (btw. how did they get rid of them in november?), it was only a matter of time, until they either hire moderators or close the chat.

  4. Maybe they're shutting it for manteinance or until they hire new moderators.

  5. I am not sure if it's troll or not. My gut instinct is to assume the OPs are the ones screwing around and that mail.ru is merely removing their main pages.

I recommend everyone regroup on libra's #lounge in case of a full shutdown. Sure, the OPs there will ban people who talk about how to proceed but ban evasion is simple.

This blog and the other two chat related blogs (icq-chat and libraspalace) will all host links to a video on December 2nd remarking on whatever has happened, good or ill.
